The 3.8.1 beta has been updated today. There is a small change whereby the north indicator button has been replaced with a "take me to my current location" button in planning mode only. Its previous behaviour (rotating the map by 90 degrees) was not very useful.
All known issues with the new What's Here functionality are also fixed.
